About the event

The competition will take place by the means of a workshop and shall be organized together with the Skin & Caot day of the HKI in the congress hall Papendal in Arnhem (The Netherlands). The combination of the Skin & Coat day and the Certo Grooming Event will guarantee an interactive, very instructive and joyful happening.
The goal of the competition will be that the participants will be able to talk to the jury during the grooming. They can advise you while grooming, so that you can work towards an even better result. This way it will guarantee more relaxed grooming, than in the most big international grooming championships.

The members of the jury and the workshop guides that are invited to this event are: Ilse Frenk-Kleton and Petra van Zuthem-de Vos from the Netherlands, Paola Acco from Italy and Umberto Lehmann from Italy. These people have all earned their marks on international grooming competitions, but are also experienced trainers of oncoming groomers. They will guide the contestants of all countries, so that they will reach the highest possible results in a short period of time

In each of the 4 categories you can compete on three different levels. In the morning there will be groomed in the following categories: “Hand strip” and “Other breeds and mix breeds”. While in the afternoon there will be the grooming of “Spaniels and Setters” and “Poodles” The contestants will be split into three levels. The first level is for the non qualified dog groomers. They will receive a judgment and they’ll get all kinds of advice to improve. The will however not get a ranking. Level 2 is for those that are certified as a groomer but hardly have any experience in taking part in a competition (maximum of one competition). The third level is for the certified groomers that compete on a regular basis. In each category there will be three contestants at level 3 and another three at level 2. At the end of the day, the jury will award one of the contestants as the winner.

The entry fee for competing with one dog is 65 Euros and for 2 dogs 100 Euros.

This workshop enables all groomers to work on their level of competence and get a judgment. For those that would like to compete, this is a good way to gain some experience. For those that have no ambition to be a professional dog groomer it is a nice way to get your work valued. For many this event can be a good lift off, to be even better at other grooming competitions.
